ABC'S of The First Thanksgiving

Jennah and Jaiden's class along with the other kindergarten class put together a Thanksgiving play to perform for the whole school. I learned a little more about Thanksgiving myself. All the props,hats and stuff they made in class. Their teacher Ms. Jimmie is very talented.

Jaiden's part was ( N is for NO ONE ) By November, there was plenty to eat. No one would be hungry this winter. She done a great job. She didn't really dig the hat.

Jennah's part was ( O IS FOR ONE ) One day, Governor Bradford said, " We should be thankful for our harvest." She performed just like a movie star. Of course she loved the hat.

And yes ! They asked me to the Narrator.

It became an official holiday in 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln, said to set aside the last Thursday in November to give thanks. In 1941, Congress made Thanksgiving an annual national holiday to be celebrated on the 4th Thursday on November.

IT'S TIME FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO GIVE THANKS TOGETHER, EAT LOTS OF GOOD FOOD, WATCH PARADES AND FOOTBALL GAMES. IT'S ALSO THE START OF THE WINTER HOLIDAY SEASON !! HAPPY SHOPPING !!!

CHAPEE IS BACK !

Chapee performed both nights in the tournament games. I had a blast !! Kids from the other schools loved coming up to me for a hug and some high fives. I don't have the video footage yet . My best friend Holly taped it for me, so as soon as I get it I will post. Here's a few pics from the first night of tournament .

Introducing CHAPEE ! They call out each kids name on the ball team. I walk out and give them high fives. It was so hot in the gym that night. I sit on the side lines during time outs with my head off just so I could get some fresh air .

MEET CHAPEE !

I would like to introduce myself. I'm Chapee( aka: Melissa Cox ) the mascot for Sharps Chapel Elem School. The P.T.O. had a fall carnival this past weekend to raise money for the school. Bryan Shoffner the Principal (aka: one of Jimmy's best friends ) ask me to dress up so the kids could have their pictures made. And guess who has a new job. I will be preforming in tomorrow nights game against Luttrell. And next week in the county tournament . I will be dancing with the cheerleaders to Michael Jackson's Beat It. Hope and Pray that I don't screw up. Surely all the cheering I've done in my younger days will pay off.

Jennah and Jaiden had no idea that it was me under the costume. I had to make them get this picture made with me.

This is Edward Berry a great friend of ours, and also my pretend husband two years in a row in our Christmas play at church. As you can see Jimmy helped in the Haunted Forrest. I think the Men had more fun than the kids scaring people.

Stay tuned for more Chapee in the next couple of weeks. I'm very blessed with a job that allows me to be off to be with my kids, and help volunteer at their school. We live in a great community. I thank GOD everyday that my kids go to a great school.

DISNEY ON ICE!

Jennah and Jaiden's school went on a field trip to watch DISNEY ON ICE . It was a great show the kids loved everything. Hope you enjoy our pictures. SORRY SO MANY!

After we went to a couple of houses they both took their wigs off . They were to hot to wear. Jimmy said their wigs were more trouble than they were worth . Jennah and Jaiden said that they didn't won't to wear wigs next yr they itched to bad.

I'VE got so much to be THANKFUL FOR. I have a great family who sticks together through anything and is always there in the good times and bad! Not a lot people have a FAMILY AS WONDERFUL AS MINE . I'M SO THANKFUL !!
